Coordinating Board

The Board is the executive decision-making body of the OCEANS Network and has a mandate of one year. It is currently composed by 5 members: the President and his 4 team members: Head of Communication; Head of Professional Development; Head of Digital Development; Deputy-Head of Digital Development.

About:

Scott graduated from University of Wales, Bangor with a degree in Environmental Science. Later went on to work in the Health service before pursuing a Masters degree in Arid Land Studies.

During his Masters Degree he spent one year at Texas Tech University in the USA, thanks to a grant from the EU.

At the present moment Scott is working in Lebanon with Syrian and Palestinian refugees around areas of general health and dealing with trauma. Additionally to this Scott is also deeply involved with a project in Somaliland that is working towards reintroducing a locally extinct shrub that will alleviate hunger during the drought season by providing nuts for people and fodder for livestock.

Position:

The President is the primary leader of the OCEANS Network and brings forward the mission and vision of the Network. He has the responsibility to ensure the overall performance and regular operation of the Board Structure, both internally and towards external organisations and partners. Also, he is Board member of the Erasmus+ Student and Alumni Alliance (ESAA).

Gyungmin Lee

About:

Gyungmin has been involved with OCEANS Network since 2012. She took part in exchange program called Kelege (Kor-Eu leaders for global education) and did her exchange semester at Innsbruck University in Austria. She had one semester-long teaching practice at several secondary schools in Innsbruck, Austria. She completed her Bachelor degree in Education at Chungbuk National University in South Korea in 2014. Gyungmin is doing field research on Innovative school and is currently working at a public school in Paju city, South Korea.

Position:

Our network is doing great things and providing amazing opportunities, but all of these needs to be communicated internally, to our members, and externally to the outside world. Exchange of information is key to enable our members to access our services, events, and opportunities. Packaging catchy and informative pieces of information on social media and articles to be published online is essential for advancing the prestige of the network and for giving chance to new people to get to know about us and what we do.

About:

Claire graduated from Florence University (Italy) with a Master’s degree in International Relations and European Studies. She has been an exchange student in Estonia, South-Korea and China. She has been a member of the OCEANS network since 2012.

Since September 2014 she has lived in Brussels, where she works as a Policy Advisor on EU affairs for an Italian organisation. In the last years Claire has been active at ESAA level as an OCEANS’ representative in the Social Activities Working Group and as member of the CMS Board.

Position:

The Head and Deputy-Head of this Team lead and coordinate all the Team’s activities and namely: career support and guidance, fostering business and social entrepreneurship among members, organization of events and professional networking activities. Also, they co-organize and participate to the activities of the respective Erasmus+ Student and Alumni Association (ESAA) Working Group. The Head of Team is also part of the OCEANS Board, and as such, performs a decision-making role and contributes to the whole strategy of the Network.

Andrew Lescelius
USA
About:

Andrew has been involved with the OCEANS Network since 2012. He completed Bachelors and Masters degrees in Management Information Systems at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. After that, he finished a Masters in Management Communication and IT at Management Center Innsbruck in Austria. During his undergraduate studies he participated in exchange programs with the University of Agder in Kristiansand, Norway, as well as Technische Universität in Braunschweig, Germany, and the People's Friendship University in Moscow, Russia.

He is currently working in eCommerce and digital marketing.

Digital Development WG will discuss the present and the future of the digital presence of the Oceans Network. You don’t need to be an IT expert to join. OCEANS website, community and all the tools connected to the organization are managed by this WG.

About:

Gabriele graduated from the computer science faculty of University of Bologna, in Italy, then he completed a master in information security and law.

He also studied his last year of graduate school in the USA, at Indiana University of Bloomington thanks to the Overseas exchange program, and he's been hooked to exchange programs and their potentiality since then.

Right now, Gabriele is working as monitoring specialist in Bologna, Italy, he has experience in building websites and web services, using the most common frameworks (wordpress, joomla, django, ...) and programming languages (php, python, perl, ...), as well as administering all major operating systems and databases.

Gabriele has always been an active part of Oceans Network since the beginning.
