Election Results: OCEANS Welcomes New Leadership for 2025

Leila Benabdallah and Samir Beharić have been elected as the new President and Vice-President of OCEANS Network following elections that concluded on 13 December. Their leadership promises to drive the network towards innovation and inclusivity.

We are thrilled to announce the results of this year’s OCEANS Network elections for President and Vice-President, which concluded on 13 December at midnight. The election saw active participation from our members, showcasing their commitment to shaping the future of OCEANS.

For the position of President, Leila Benabdallah received 77 votes, demonstrating strong support for her vision and leadership. Mohammad Rajaei received 25 votes, and we thank him for his participation and dedication to the Network.

For the position of Vice-President, Samir Beharić secured 70 votes, continuing his impactful contributions to OCEANS. Philippe Sessou received 32 votes, and we extend our gratitude for his engagement and ideas for the Network’s growth.

With Leila Benabdallah as President and Samir Beharić as Vice-President, OCEANS is poised to embark on an exciting new chapter. Leila’s proven leadership as Vice-President saw her forge impactful international collaborations, empowered members to represent OCEANS globally, and strengthened the Network’s position within Erasmus+ Students and Alumni Alliance (ESAA). Meanwhile, Samir’s tenure as President ensured seamless cooperation among board members, strengthened stakeholder relationships, and guided the transition to a new Erasmus+ Support Service team, laying a strong foundation for future growth. Together, their leadership promises to drive OCEANS towards innovation, inclusivity, and lasting impact.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Leila and Samir and look forward to seeing their leadership drive OCEANS to new heights in the coming year.
